Kaplan Furniture and Product Warranties: Coverage, Benefits, and More

Written by Stephanie Tilton | Dec 15, 2024 8:00:00 PM

Investing in high-quality furnishings and materials is essential when it comes to creating enriching, functional classrooms for young children to learn through play. Yet, with all the activity that happens in the classroom, even the most durable products face wear, tear, and deterioration from time to time.

That's why warranties are so important! A warranty protects your investment and provides peace of mind, and this is precisely what Kaplan commits to doing for our customers. In this article, you'll explore our furnishing and classroom materials warranties, what they cover, what they do not cover, and how you can submit a claim should the need arise.

Why do classroom product warranties matter?

A warranty agreement between a seller and customer guarantees product quality, durability, and reliability. As you know, the early childhood classroom allows children to explore, learn, and play. However, any furnishings or items in the classroom face constant wear and tear, whether from art activity messes, rambunctious play, or high usage.

In the case of Kaplan and our warranties, we provide the best coverage possible so that our customers have constant peace of mind. Knowing that if something were to break or get damaged during the warranty period, we would quickly fix it and keep classroom and lesson disruption to a minimum.

What warranties does Kaplan offer on classroom furnishings and products?

Kaplan stands behind the quality of our products, which is why we currently offer four different warranties on our classroom furnishings and other products. Those include:

Lifetime Limited Warranty

Our lifetime limited warranty covers a product for the original purchaser's lifetime. This coverage ensures that a product will remain free of material or craftsmanship defects for that span of time. If not, Kaplan will repair or replace it.

10-Year Limited Warranty

Our 10-year limited warranty covers a product for ten years from the date of purchase. This coverage ensures that the product will remain free of material or craftsmanship defects during the 10-year timeframe. If not, Kaplan will repair or replace it.

5-Year Limited Warranty

Our 5-year limited warranty covers a product for five years from the date of purchase. This coverage ensures that a product will remain free of material or craftsmanship defects during the 5-year timeframe. If not, Kaplan will repair or replace it.

1-Year Limited Warranty

Our one-year limited warranty covers a product for one year from the date of purchase. This coverage ensures that the product will remain free of material or craftsmanship defects during the one-year timeframe. If not, Kaplan will repair or replace it.

What do Kaplan's furniture and product warranties cover?

Whether the product you purchase comes with one year or a lifetime of coverage, the terms and conditions are the same. All furniture and product warranties cover issues such as:

  • Structural defects that decrease the durability and integrity of your product
  • Scratches or blemishes that arise due to manufacturing, assembly, or shipment
  • Damage that extends beyond everyday use

Please note that Kaplan's warranties are not transferable between facility owners or program directors. Our warranties are limited to the original purchaser with proof of purchase. Extended manufacturer's warranties cover some of our products. Repair or replacement of these products is solely at the manufacturer's discretion, not Kaplan's.

What is not covered by Kaplan's furniture and product warranties?

While customer satisfaction is our top priority, and we do as much as we can to fix or repair classroom furnishings or materials that no longer meet state safety and licensing standards, there are some exclusions to our warranty coverage. Those exclusions are:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Fading of colors due to the life of the item, lighting conditions in the classroom, or cleaning products used to sanitize the item
  • Damage due to misuse of the product

What steps can I take to minimize damage not covered by Kaplan's furniture or product warranties?

The best way to improve the longevity of your classroom furnishings and products is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations regarding age-appropriate usage, assembly, and cleaning instructions. Before finalizing your purchase, speak with a Kaplan Sales Representative about our white glove delivery and assembly services to prevent defects or damage due to improper product assembly.

When cleaning and sanitizing your furnishings and other classroom materials, follow the manufacturer's suggestions to ensure the finishings and product materials do not deteriorate prematurely.
