Want quick and easy fall decorating ideas? We've got three great pumpkin designs that make perfect decorations for school or home. Decorating pumpkins is a fun way to celebrate fall and Halloween. However, pumpkin carving can be messy and time consuming, which is why decorating pumpkins without carving can save you a lot of time and cleanup.
Each no-carve pumpkin design featured below requires only a few materials, and you can make them by yourself or incorporate them into a lesson plan for your students. Use the Donut Pumpkin and Orange Slice Pumpkin as a way to talk with students about making healthy eating choices, and use the Crayon Melt Pumpkin as part of a science-themed lesson plan about melting and freezing. Children will love learning how the heat from the heat gun or blow dryer melts the crayon wax and how taking the heat away causes the wax to cool and harden again.

Required Materials:
1Donut Pumpkin
Paint the top of your pumpkin with your choice of acrylic paint. This will be the icing for your Donut Pumpkin. Let the paint dry, and then brush decoupage glue over the painted area. Sprinkle some Colored Rice over the glue, and then let it dry.
2Orange Slice Pumpkin
Turn your pumpkin over, and use a white Kwik Stix to make an orange slice design on the bottom of the pumpkin. You may need to trace over it several times to make the white more vivid. You can use Kwik Stix to make a variety of fruit-themed pumpkins.
3Crayon Melt Pumpkin
Take the paper wrappers off the crayons, and then hot glue the crayons around the stem of the pumpkin. You can use standard crayons, larger crayons broken up into smaller pieces, or crayon pieces you already have in the art center to make this design. Once you have the crayons glued on, use a heat gun or blow dryer to melt the crayons. Let the pumpkin dry.
